When it comes to planning my photo shoots, I first and foremost call Margie at fresh images, and tell her it is that time again when I am getting my seasonal colours ready to go.  Together we collaborate ideas, I usually put out where I want the photo shoots to happen, and she usually gets really excited and says that I read her mind!   Although, Margie did a fabulous job on our first photo shoot together, she nailed this shoot, and I could see that she was even more confident with photographing in a way that she isn't necessarily used to doing.  She took an old truck, told our beautiful model to go poise on it, and with the help of the wind perfectly blowing her hair, she got a breath taking photo.  My moms words said it best " well clearly you have the eye we don't, because we see a pile of wood covered in nails, and you see a great photo location!" Margie also brought out some crazy lens she had never worked with before, googled it a bit, and then was taking pictures with it like she had been using it for years.

When it came to choosing models, we were both in agreement we wanted a red head!  Margie's best friend is a red head, so we obviously just thought we would use her for the shoot.  When she wasn't available that day, and neither of us new any other read heads, we were on the hunt.  Luckily I decided to creep on facebook later that day, and stopped to look at a some recent wedding pictures a friend had posted.  One of her first pictures had a beautiful red head named Cassidy in them...so I emailed her and told her I had to have Cassidy in my photo shoot! To my relief she was flattered and wasn't weirded out and we got the red head we were looking for! The other two models I choose were Jessica a friend from college, and Dawn-Marie a family friend who I have known for years! All the girls where a little nervous at first, but seemed to get into character real quick! Dawn Marie had great little comments for every look, and was constantly encouraging and complimenting the other girls.

Margie's relaxed approach to photography made it seem like she was just capturing moments of  a group of friends hanging out, and not total strangers. My favorite part of having every day girls go through this experience is to see their reaction when they look at the photos. We spend our entire lives comparing ourselves to the girls in magazines, and wishing we could look like them, and for these girls that became a reality.  I always hear from the models about how much they enjoyed their experience and how greatful they are for being a part of it.  The feedback and comments on pictures makes me soo happy and is exactly why I love having everyday beauties be a part of my photo shoot.  Judging by the amount of private messages I have got from friends wanting to be the next jacha minerals model, it might be a tough decision next time! Keep up the comments ladies, make our models feel beautiful as they are absolutely stunning!!
