The best thing about having your own makeup line is you get to plan amazing photo shoots! Falls photo shoot, had the theme "fashion meets country". I thought it would be kind of cool to incorporate fashion, and makeup and beauty, but go back to my roots and blend my two lives together. The results of this, I must say, are amazing!! I wanted my models to also reflect this theme so I picked some good old farm girls, and they did a fabulous job! They are all stunning and we had a great time! I really had a vision with this photo shoot, and put a lot of time into finding the right hair and clothes that would go with my makeup ideas to complete the look I had in mind. I asked Jackie from Pieces of Him & Her to Style the shoot, and she got the clothing bang on! The clothes completed my vision and I could not have asked for better pieces! She may have did too good of a job however, as I could not part with all the clothing and ended up purchasing some of the pieces for my own wardrobe. Their fall/winter line-up is amazing I must say, and the prices are very affordable for the quality of clothing you purchase. I highly suggest that everyone takes a drive to St. Mary’s and check out her store, I know my models all are! I choose to work with Margie from fresh images photography yet again, as she does such a fabulous job. I always choose not to use "models" in my shoots as I want real women to go through this experience, and I love seeing their faces when they see the pictures after. My models usually are nervous going into the shoots, but Margie does a great job at making them feel comfortable and bringing out their true beauty. She also shows them how to turn their head or change their posture so that they take the most flattering pictures. My models Jessica, Dawn-Marie and Cassidy really got into character, and we had many laughs getting these great shoots!!! My favorite picture was formed during one of our biggest laugh sessions, and I think it is truly amazing when these moments are captured on film as we will always remember what was said a that exact moment. When I told Margie about my visions for this shoot she was ecstatic, she has always dreamed of shooting on a farm, and she asked if we could incorporate balloons, as she has also wanted to shoot with them for a long time. Of course I said yes, and the balloons were absolutely amazing in the pictures. Of course a photo shoot with Margie wouldn't be the same if she didn't show off her acrobatic abilities, and she decided to do the splits through the mud, all the while saving her equipment ;) I also had an acrobatic moment, which unfortunately my parents dog Louie, took advantage of. Along with all our behind the scenes bloopers we even had a nice visit from the OPP thinking that that abandoned vehicles and furniture all over the back road of the farm were suspicious. I think he was a little shocked that instead he found a photo-shoot in progress and just gave us a head shake and a smile and was on his way. Although, these photo shoots are great fun, they are very time consuming so I thank the models for being so patient through it all. I also love that none of the models even new each other and we spent the day like we were all lifelong friends. Until the pictures get released, here are some behind the scene pictures to make the suspense even worse! Enjoy and thanks again to all that participated!
