Tips on Makeup Brushes!

Posted by jachacosmetics

Women always ask me why are brushes better then using your fingers or a sponge for foundation?  Brushes are better because sponges will absorb way more product then a brush would, so instead of putting the foundation on your face, its really just getting soaked up into the sponge!  So although brushes are more expensive then a sponge initially, they will save you money on the amount of products being used.  Fingers are an ok option, but again they will absorb the product, and if they are not clean will obviously transfer bacteria to your face.

I also have women saying to me oh my brushes are getting quite brittle and dirty so I better buy new ones.  Well, as long as you have bought real hair brushes, why throw them away? You can wash them with your shampoo and conditioner you use on your own hair, and they will be good as new!!

Most women don't use brushes because they have no idea what they are used for! So here are some pictures of my favorite brushes and how to use them.

Here is your basic set of brushes:

Powder Brush:  A powder brush is used to add your finishing powder and your bronzer at the end of your makeup application.

Blush Brush: A little smaller then a powder brush and used to apply your blush preciously  on the apples of your cheeks.

Large Powder Brush: Used to apply your base eye shadow all over your lid.

Small Shadow Brush: Used to apply your contour eyeshadow colour and can be used to apply your highlight under your brow.

Liner Brush:  Used to apply your eye shadow as an eyeliner or to apply powder to your eyebrows.

Lip Liner Brush: Used to apply your favorite lipstick perfectly to your lips.

Foundation Brush: Used to apply foundation evenly on the skin.

So those are your basic brushes, they are available through jacha minerals for $55.00 for the set.  If you are really into makeup and are looking for more distinct looks however, here are a few more of my favorite cannot live without brushes.

Cutie Kabuki Brush:  I love this brush to apply foundation, I find that it apply liquid foundation faster and more evenly then a regular foundation brush and their is no streaking! The common use for this brush is apply a heavier application of powder foundatin.

Contour Brush:  Used just for that, Contouring! You can use it apply bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks to make them pop! You can also use it to define your jaw line.

Smokey Brush:  Ladies if your looking to perfect the smokey eye, this brush is your first step in conquering this look. It will add the dark colour right where you want to apply it on your lid.

Medium Creme Brush: Used to apply conceler to blemishes and redness in your skin.

Well ladies I hope this helps to answer some of your brush questions, I know its still confusing but buying the right brushes are definilty a first step in achieveing a beautiful professional looking makeup application.
