$10.00 at http://www.supre.com.au/
Can find from about $15-$50 at H &M

MUST HAVE NUMBER ONE:  A CUTE SUMMER JUMPSUIT!!! They are not only super cute and ridiculously comfy, they are very light and airy whether you choose the long version or the shorts. When it comes to really edgy trends you may not want to spend a whole lot of money as it may not be wearable next season.  I try to shop at places like Supre in Australia, as they have opposite seasons to us, so when we are going into summer, their collections are on sale! I bought the cute little short jumper above for $10.00!!! The issue with online shopping is although you can often find free shipping, sometimes those customs people pick your package, and your items end up being more then you bargained for when you excitingly go and get them from the post office.  H & M usually has fashionable items from low end prices, however with H&M I find it's hit or miss, some items I wear once and they wreck, other items last forever.

Can't find it online? That's because it's not actually available through my website at this time.  So contact jacha minerals  directly for order information.
MUST HAVE NUMBER TWO:  A GOOD TINTED MOISTURIZER WITH SPF!!  I cannot stress enough how much I love tinted moisturizers in the summer time! It not only provides your skin with protection from UV rays it makes your skin look amazing at the same time.  Make sure you choose a Tinted Moisturizer that is Talc free( so it doesn't feel heavy on your skin) and is water resistant so it doesn't sweat off!!  Also, generally if you choose a good quality product, you can still reapply it during the day like your regular sunscreen without it looking cakey or feeling nasty. Of course I love the tinted moisturizer from the jacha minerals collection the best, but I will let you be the judge of that :)

These products are not available on my website as of right now, so contact jacha minerals directly for information.  The colours are (right to left) Pink Grapefruit, Sun Swept and Sea Breeze
MUST HAVE NUMBER THREE:  TINTED LIP BALM:  Lip Tint SPF 15 is my new obsession, I hate leaving the house without them( I carry all three colours in my purse).  They still have colour, but go on your lips sheer like a balm.  They also have SPF 15 so they will protect your lips from the sun, and at the same time they are filled with antioxidants so they help to correct the damage already done to the lips.

MUST HAVE NUMBER FOUR: Purple Prairie Organic Bug Stuff Lotion:  Because I spend a lot of my day hiking or walking through conservation areas and bug filled places, I wear bug spray daily! My skin definitely pays the price for this, as" off" daily dries my skin out like crazy!  I currently started using purple prairie organic bug stuff, and I love it.  It has a strong smell, but its a strong good soothing smell, it keeps the bugs away, its safe for babies, and it moisturizes my skin!!! I put the lotion on my body and their spray on clothes.  www.everythingmomandbabyshop.com

MUST HAVE NUMBER FIVE:  GREAT SUMMER ACCESSORIES!  Not only do I love Alkemie jewelry but I love their philosophy. Alkemie promotes fair trade, local living wage and eco-sustainable business practices to combat the existing harmful effects and conditions of the metal and gemstone industry; including social issues such as children working in dangerous conditions to mine and mount stones, as well as environmental issues, like toxic chemicals from mines seeping into the surrounding land and severely damaging precious watersheds.
All of Alkemie Pieces are made from 100% reclaimed metals.  Handmade in Los Angeles.  Leather comes from sustainable cattle farmers and is dyed with earth friendly dye.   Eco-Jewelry all the way! Contact jacha minerals for more information on this jewelry.

Gillians Wedding Makeup

Posted by jachacosmetics

I had the opportunity to do Makeup for Gillian's Wedding in Guelph today, and I must say she was another very easy going bride.  Gillian literally had a huge smile on her face the whole day, and even though her bridesmaids had issues at the hair dresser, she stayed completely calm.  I always get people wanting stories about the bridezillas I have worked with, but to be honest, I am so lucky cause I always get amazing brides. Gillian wanted makeup a little more dramatic then usual, so we played up the pinks, browns and golds.   Congratulations on your big day Gillian, and thank you so much for choosing jacha minerals .

Summer Bronzing Tips

Posted by jachacosmetics

So now that summer is here, we are all piling sunscreen on our faces and letting the rest of our bodies get a nice bronzed tan.  Well this may help to protect premature aging on the face, but it looks a little weird when our faces are significantly lighter then our bodies.  Obviously, the quickest and safest solution is to use a bronzer! The most common issue with the application of bronzers is that people forget that the sun does not hit the face evenly, therefore your bronzer should not be applied evenly all over your face! Walking around looking like an orange, is not a flattering look on anyone!  The orange look,  is usually due to an incorrect application rather then the bronzer itself.  Remember when you bronze your skin you are mimicking the sun, so you want to apply it to spots where the sun would naturally hit your face(nose, chin, cheekbones, outer forehead). The best bronzers to buy are the ones that have multi tones, so that it all mixes together to compliment most skin tones.  You also want to look for bronzers that are free of talc, so that it looks natural over a foundation rather then cakey.

A) If you wear blush as well as bronzer, put bronzer on your brush, tap it a bit to get rid of the access powder and make a C shape from under your check bone up and around to the top of your brow bone.  Lift the brush then continue again from the center of your face down to your chin, continue this motion until you have applied the right amount of bronzer.  Then without dipping the brush again lightly put the access bronzer over the rest of your face.  Then take your blush colour and apply it on the apples of your cheeks.  The reason you put the bronzer under the cheek bone if you wear blush is so that you contour your check bones  and make them look more defined.

B) If you do not wear a blush, do the same application process as above but apply the C shape starting on the check bone instead of under.

Sunkissed is a Matte Bronzer, that will give you a sheer natural bronzed finish.  This bronzer is paraben free.  $36.00

The Zebra Print Mineral Matte Bronzer comes in two shades, Santafe and Canyon.  The colours harmonize together to match any skin tone.  You can use the colours alone as an eyeshadow, mix in the pink tones to create a blush or blend all together for a beautiful bronze finish.  This bronzer is also infused with vitamins and minerals to condition and strengthen your skin.  $36.00

Safari Bronzer in Congo can be used as a eyeshadow and a bronzer.  Use the lightest colour as a highlight on your eyes, the medium colour as all over lid colour, and the darker brown for you contour and apply with a liner brush for an eyeliner! This bronzer is infused with minerals and vitamins to not only give your skin a healthy glow but it will strengthen and condition your skin in the process. $36.00
 HAPPY BRONZING :)

AMY's Bridal Makeup and Wedding Party

Posted by jachacosmetics

Eyeshadow Palate used on AMY
Because I do not have the best photography skills, I will wait to get a nice professional picture of this beautiful bride and post it soon.  I had two different weddings to do Makeup for yesterday and the second wedding was an outdoor wedding backing onto the Mitchell Golf Course, it was an afternoon Ceremony and the setting was beautiful.  Amy is a gorgeous redhead with a complexion filled with beautiful freckles and for those who know me well, this is my favorite complexion to do makeup on.  Amy does not wear makeup often, and so we decided to just use a tinted moisturizer on her skin, to give it a little bit of a glow, but yet allow all her freckles to come through.  This is becoming a big trend when it comes to makeup, a lot of brides are not wanting the full coverage looks that was popular in the past and are wanting just a very light foundation on their skin.  We went a little darker on her eyes but stayed with the nice golden tones which compliments her skin type.  We finished her look off with a simple liptint,to give her lips a bit of colour with the feel of a simple lip balm.

Bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride:

Amy had three bridesmaids in her wedding party, most of them not really makeup wearers so we kept the look quite natural.  On Jill we used peach, purple and gold tones, and a medium coverage phototouch foundation.  We also applied a little bit of the Sheer Veil to Jill's skin to give it a little bit of a glow.

Leona was also not someone who wore a lot of makeup so again we used a medium coverage Phototouch foundation, and kept it to soft golds and browns on the eyes.  We just finished her look with a light Super Gloss on the lips.

Melissa was a more daring bridesmaid.  She often wears makeup, so we played up her makeup a little bit more.  She likes to wear green shadows so we did a smokey eye with green tones to bring out her eyes.  Melissa also wanted a brighter lip as she is into that trend right now.  Because we did a smokey eye, we went with a the LipTint in Sea Breeze as it gives your lips a nice tint, that's dramatic, yet soft enough to go with the boldness of a dark eye.
I have to say when it comes to wedding makeup, I absolutely love doing the mother of the bride.  I think it is because most of the time they do not wear makeup and so even the lightest bit of makeup makes a dramatic change. Mother of the brides are usually the most hesitant to get their makeup done as well, so when they look great after and like the look its the biggest accomplishment.  I just went for a light Sheer Tint foundation on Darlene's skin, to just even out tine skin tone and give her skin a healthy glow, while still letting her freckles come through.  On her eyes I stuck to the brown tones in mostly matte colours, and used a brown liner that I then when over with a shadow to soften the look.  On Darleen's lips I used a Luxury Lipgloss in Mauve Glow, which is my favorite colour to use on the mother of the bride as it seems to compliment most skin types.  I also like the Luxury Gloss as it is still a pretty solid colour like a lipstick, but because it is a gloss it makes the lips appear fuller.

Courtney Bridal Makeup

Courtney's face chart, her sister used the same colour palate, switching the Gloss for the Liptint and used the Phototouch Foundation in Porcelain instead of the Liquid Powder Foundation in Tender Beige. She also used the Mineral Finishing Powder in Corrector.
Yesterday I had the privilege of doing wedding Makeup for a Guelph Bride Courtney and her sister.  They were looking for a makeup that was more then they usually wore, but still looked like them in the end.  I used the Mineral Sheer Veil in Porcelain($30.00) to really reflect the light away from a few blemishes, and I must say the end result was a beautiful flawless skin.  Courtney and her sister both wanted a smoky eye, but because of the fact that they both rarely wear makeup we softened it up a bit by using a dark greener tone instead of a harsh black.  Since we went for a darker eye they decided on a nice soft glossy lip, Courtney wore the Super Gloss in Super Sweet, and her sister wore the Liptint SPF 15 in Pink Grapefruit.  Thanks again Ladies for a great morning of makeup and good conversation, Courtney had lots of great stories about her job, and the confidence she has in being a women in a mostly male field, you go girl :)

I have always believed that a face wash is just a face wash, doesn't matter what kind you get as long as you actually wash your face with it. This was until I discovered the Vibran-C face wash, it not only smells amazing ( great orangey scent), but really takes off your makeup with light exfoliating beads.  I no longer have to use a face wash and an eye makeup remover as its gentle enough to use around the eyes to perform a double duty! This is the top seller from the jacha minerals skincare line.

jacha minerals  gel cleanser lightly exfoliates to  help dissolve and dislodge dull surface cells, remove makeup and impurities, while moisturizing and nourishing skin. Antioxidant Vitamins A, C & E help brighten, repair and protect skin, for a fresher, smoother, brighter complexion

If you’re looking for a great summer foundation I cannot stress enough my love for the jacha minerals sheer tint SPF 20.  No one wants heavy caked on foundation in the heat of the summer, dripping down your face!   This formula has a light weight feel, and a sheer skin brightening look.  You’re going to put on sunscreen anyways so you might as well kick it up a notch and add some antioxidants while evening out your skin tone in the process.  I literally cannot leave the house without having this product on in the summer! LOVE LOVE LOVE :)

jacha minerals sheer tint contains SPF 20 and is a foundation, sunscreen and antioxidant lotion. This ultra light formula is made up of a Multi-Mineral Complex of Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc, Lysine and other vital elements. Potent antioxidants, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng and Vitamins A and E, protect against free radical damage while moisturizing skin.

A powerful, 7% Vitamin C, radiance boosting treatment for all skin types. This serum stimulates collagen production, brightens skin, provides antioxidant protection against free radical damage and is designed to prevent the irritation and dehydration commonly associated with Vitamin C treatments.  Some people prefer serum as the skin is known to absorb the serum more easily then a cream.

Vibran-C Creme is an intensive anti-aging facial treatment cream with high-potency, 10% Vitamin C and skin variance ingredients. This age-defying face cream contains L-Absorbic Vitamin C and is combined with hydrating ceramides, chamomile, ginko bilboa, Vitamin A, Oats and echinacea for a soft, radiant complexion. The Vibran-C treatment cream is clinically proven to improve skin's appearance, reduce wrinkles, fight free radicals and improve antioxidant skin protection.
The Vibran-C Creme is jacha minerals bestselling face cream, it leaves your skin feeling soft as a babies bottom (literally).  I also found that it brightens your skin, and helps get rid of acne scars.  Unfortunately if you have really sensitive skin, this product contains high-potency ingredients so you may have to stay away :(.

ALL PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE AT http://www.jachaminerals.com/

YOUR SKIN NEEDS ANTIOXIDANTS TO FIGHT OFF FREE RADICALS! Free radicals are electrons which are free to rome around and attach themselves to cells,  where they cause damage such as premature ageing and they break down the collagen in the skin.Things like pollution, smoking, UV Rays and chemicals which are used in our food and water are amongst many factors that cause Free radicals. Antioxidents are free radicals kryptonite and play an essential role in preventing free radicals from damaging your skin cells.   To prevent free radical damage on the inside of your body make sure to eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, drink plenty of water to generate healthy cells, and add things like pink grapefruit and pomegrante fruit as well as green tea to your diet as they are full of antioxidants.  The best way to protect your skin from the outside is to use products that contain VITAMIN C.  VITAMIN C is the best known and incredibly powerful antioxidant that will help increase your skins collagen production, and reduces wrinkles and the fine lines you see around your eyes. At the same time it brightens your skintone, helps heal your skin from the damage free radicals have already caused, and will reduce the appearance of scars.  Obviously using SPF on your skin is also essential in the prevention of free radical damage.
