Summer Bronzing Tips

Posted by jachacosmetics

So now that summer is here, we are all piling sunscreen on our faces and letting the rest of our bodies get a nice bronzed tan.  Well this may help to protect premature aging on the face, but it looks a little weird when our faces are significantly lighter then our bodies.  Obviously, the quickest and safest solution is to use a bronzer! The most common issue with the application of bronzers is that people forget that the sun does not hit the face evenly, therefore your bronzer should not be applied evenly all over your face! Walking around looking like an orange, is not a flattering look on anyone!  The orange look,  is usually due to an incorrect application rather then the bronzer itself.  Remember when you bronze your skin you are mimicking the sun, so you want to apply it to spots where the sun would naturally hit your face(nose, chin, cheekbones, outer forehead). The best bronzers to buy are the ones that have multi tones, so that it all mixes together to compliment most skin tones.  You also want to look for bronzers that are free of talc, so that it looks natural over a foundation rather then cakey.

A) If you wear blush as well as bronzer, put bronzer on your brush, tap it a bit to get rid of the access powder and make a C shape from under your check bone up and around to the top of your brow bone.  Lift the brush then continue again from the center of your face down to your chin, continue this motion until you have applied the right amount of bronzer.  Then without dipping the brush again lightly put the access bronzer over the rest of your face.  Then take your blush colour and apply it on the apples of your cheeks.  The reason you put the bronzer under the cheek bone if you wear blush is so that you contour your check bones  and make them look more defined.

B) If you do not wear a blush, do the same application process as above but apply the C shape starting on the check bone instead of under.
